SISTER-TIME ON NANCY LU FEBRUARY 16–MARCH 6

Jenny spent time with us in Grenada, sailed to the Tobago Cays to swim with the turtles, sailed to Bequia to live the vacation life, and sailed back to Grenada to spend some more time for a total of just under 3 weeks…

FIRST, GRENADA:

First there was Frog without his full set of clothes…He wishes he had a friend…

Next came Toad…

They stuck together through some rough sails, as did we, but no one got seasick…

IMG_6787

Both Frog and Toad eventually got full sets of clothes…

and swimming outfits…

They are good friends who enjoyed their time on Nancy Lu together…from peeking out the forward hatch to…

We all had fun hiking to Seven Sisters Waterfall!

SOON, IT WAS TIME TO SET SAIL…

IMG_5602

We had a salty sail (most of our sails with Jenny were relatively rough) to Carriacou where we overnighted at Sandy Island, motoring around to Tyrell Bay the next morning to check out of Grenada before we did a quick sail…

to Union Island to check into St. Vincent and the Grenadines so we could sail on to the Tobago Cays and swim with sea turtles!!

We patronized local coffee shops, ice cream shops, artisans and vendors!

After our time in the Grenadines, we sailed back to Carriacou to check back into Grenada.

In Carriacou, we anchored at Sandy Island again, snorkeled there, and spent one night before we motored around to Tyrell Bay.

That’s me trying a new fin style. So far, it hasn’t been trending…

We were lucky to see a turtle at our usual Sandy Island snorkeling spot. This one was much more shy than the ones at the turtle sanctuary in the Tobago Cays.

This is the underwater landmark of coral that I always look for at Sandy Island.

When we anchored in Tyrell Bay, we got a ride from there to Paradise Beach Club and enjoyed their food and beautiful setting.

IMG_5796

Of course, we had to get a pic. under our boat-name plaque from a few years ago.

IMG_5814

I hope we never stop in Carriacou without eating fish tacos at The Iguana!

Back in Prickly Bay one morning before yoga, Jenny and I modeled the tank tops we bought from a vendor-boat that came through the mooring field in the Tobago Cays.

The turtles on our shirts are the artwork of a little boy named Felix. Felix is now an adult with children of his own! Besides the boat-vendor in the Tobago Cays, items with his artwork on them are sold at at two shops called FIDEL. the original FIDEL is in Carriacou, and the other one is at Port Louis Marina in Grenada.. In the sailing photos above, I am wearing a camisole I bought at FIDEL in Carriacou which features Felix’s artwork entitled: Carriacou Bus ride.

Before we said goodbye to Jenny, Mark presented her with a piece of art he bought for her at the FIDEL at Port Louis. He drew her name for Christmas 2026…Merry Early Christmas!!

I have to be honest and say that I had a lump in my throat for a while after Jenny left us, but thinking about our plans for the next week helped…
